Do not make the mistake of taking your new bike for a spin in your jeans and T-shirt. These materials will not protect you if you crash-even if you suffer a minor tip-over. Get motorcycle apparel made from leather or Kevlar. Also, do not forget the most crucial element-a DOT-approved helmet.
Limit your rides in inclement weather
You may want to take your motorcycle out every day, but be mindful of what you can handle. If it is raining, hailing or snowing outside, it may be best to wait for another day. It takes a lot of experience to know how to ride in bad weather conditions. Do not let yourself get too confident. Wet conditions can not only affect the traction of your bike, but your visibility too.
